Thank You MAS!

Remember my post on my umrah trip last time? Well..ever since this and that post, I have received a lot of emails asking me things they need to know about umrah/mekah (which some of them, I've yet to reply!)

So anyway...most of the emails asked me to write more and more beautiful things about Mekah. The truth is... I've written most of my experiences while I was there - which was only for 10 days, and I've used 85% of my photos already! Remember when I told you, I forgot to bring my camera charger? So I only had my camera on my last day in Mekah and in Jeddah only.. So, there are not much of the photos that can be displayed here.. Unless of course, I repeat and use the same photo! haha ;p - I have like 3 or 4 days punya gambar jer, normally I'd take a lot of photos wherever I go because later on when I look back at the photos, I'd remember the moment and what happened and etc.. But this time around, I only had 3-4 days punya gambar/cerita... So the rest of the days when I don't have my camera around, well..I can't really remember that much la as to where I was out and about in the city/area... So sorry about that!

But..anyway, the only photos that's left with me about this whole umrah trip which I have not share with you yet, was my journey back home to KL!

I told you about my journey with Etihad Airways right? But I haven't tell you my journey back home.. We did not fly home with Etihad Airways by the way. We flew with MAS! (Gotta love Malaysian product and services! hehe)

So anyway..

I loveee their spacious seat/area! My butt sinks in peacefully! haha.

And the legroom is endless! Ok fineee... I'm exaggerating, but compare it with Etihad Airways, MAS wins! hehe ;p

As usual, upon arriving, the sweet stewardess would serve you a welcome drink and ask your name and what would you like to be called..

...and I chose an orange juice

By the way, she mistakenly thought I was a Datin/a Datuk's wife. LOL. After my dad went to the toilet at the back.. She said to me, "Are you Datuk's wife? What should I call you, Datinnn.... (waiting for my answer)"
I was like.... Haaaaa??? Do I look that old?? Or... Do I look like "isteri muda/isteri ke empat/ISTERI ORANG"??! hahaha. ;p
So I replied no, and said I'm my dad's daughter. And asked her to call me MISS Wani. (I did emphasize on the word Miss. To tell her that I'm still young, and unmarried! LOL ;p)

So she called me Cik Wani then. hehe

Datin Wani???!! HA HA HA
(Face was a bit red, due to the weather in Jeddah that time)

But anyway, this is why I love MAS. They would address you your name. And I really like that! I feel so important. hahahaha ;p
Every sentence would start with, "Cik Wani nak apa-apa?",  "Cik Wani is everything ok?", "Cik Wani, let me get you some drinks... -or anything", "Cik Wani, do you want some coffee?" or... "So sorry Cik Wani, yang tu dah habis la", and so on!

At that time, I really realized, my name is Wani. Before this, I never really feel, and get the idea that my parents has given me a Wani name. I mean, I never really recognized that Wani is my name.... (I just feel like Wani is just some sort of a way people call me, but I don't feel like it's my name.. Like those nicknames or something.. Err..do you get what I mean? Oh well...nevermind. It's hard to explain! haha ;p) But that night, I know now..that Wani, is my name.... And it's Cik by the way! ;)

Hmmm...... Feels kinda cool to be called as Cik Wani lah. So friends and family, do call me Cik Wani from now on! haha ;p

And then the stewardess gave me this amenity kit!

Every half an hour, I would check this screen! I really really can't wait to reach home...and call someone to tell my beautiful stories! hehe

Some magazines to entertain my night..

Dinner time!

Start with satay! Mmmm...

I watched Monsters Inc while eating..

...and then came the salads and some selection of breads

Smoked Halibu Salad- with calypso sauce and a wedge of lemon

After that, the main course: Chicken Makhanwala.
Chicken breast cooked in butter, with potato, grilled vegetables and makhani sauce

And lastly, the dessert: Date Cheesecake with Raspberry sauce. This cake is delicious!!!

And then a couple of minutes after I was done with my dinner, I freshen up myself a bit.. to get ready for bed...

...and took my pills too. (I was not well that night)

These are the stuff in their amenity kit. Some stuff from Clarins! How awesome! hehe

Went to their restroom.. And they have Aigner toiletries set! I love the scent.. (Btw, MAS used to give Aigner toiletries set in the amenity kit for their Business Class passengers.. Now, not anymore I think? Not sure)

After I have brushed my teeth and slap on some moisturizer, it's time to wear the socks and time for bed!!

And adjust the seat for bed position! ^_^
(I always be so jakun about this thing! Seriously, every time I board on a plane, this is the thing that I like the most, and gonna keep on playing with it until I sleep! haha ;p)

Anyways... I woke up with some fresh fruits, health drinks, fresh juice and some yogurt as for my breakfast!

...and some bakery selection! Yummm!
(I chose bun and croissant. I love those two!)

Cheese Omelette with grilled veal sausage, hash brown potato, grilled tomato and mushrooms. Seriously, this was super yummy.. I feel like asking for another one! But this Cik Wani is too shy! ;p

I looked at the time, and it was only about 5 minutes left to touch down Kuala Lumpur!! Masa ni sangat-sangat tak sabar! haha ;p

Time to freshen up a bit!

"Good Morning Cik Wani! Welcome home!"

I slept so well on this plane! Super comfy! And the food is nice too! Thank you MAS, for bringing me home safe and sound! What a great 8-hour flight home! =)

XOXO,
Cik Wani.

Helping One Another

Hello ladies!

How was your weekend? Mine was great! We had a family dinner, and both my sisters came to our house with my cute little nephews and nieces! ^_^

Anyway, I have a story to tell you which happened on one of the nights when we were having our usual favourite spot for family dinner in Marriott..
So on that day, one of our local university (I think it was UM or UPM..couldn't remember), was having an annual dinner at the hotel.

We arrived there around 7.20 -ish, I think.. So just in time to perform the Maghrib prayer. But since I was having my period, obviously I did not follow my dad, my brother and my mom's footsteps to the mussolla. And instead, I went to the restrooms, just to kill time while waiting for them to finish. (I thought I wanted to camwhore a bit. haha ;p)

But the moment I pushed the restroom's door to enter, I was really surprised to see so many girls inside there! Seriously, it was like those public toilets at the R&R stations during festive seasons!! Well...almost like that. - So many people, and so many noises.. I couldn't really move around in there.. And I also have lost the feeling of wanting to pee with that kind of crowd and queue, at the time. (And of course, all my plans to being vain in the toilet has been cancelled right away..haha)

Normally, it'd be like thissss... Very quiet and peaceful. hehe.
(This is a picture I took when the last time I came to Marriott for dinner)

See that... Empty toilets! ;)
(this picture was taken on the day I fell in love with Japanese food. Blogged here)

But not that night! I really felt like I was not in the right toilet!

So anyway, all I did was taking out my lipstick, slide it on my lips and took out my mascara, and apply some...from far! Not like in the above pictures where I was so near to the mirror.. Nope! - I was almost near to that white toilet door, actually. Thatttt was how far I was, from the mirror.. Because there were like a few girls who were in front of me and in front of the mirror.
And they were so nervous and excited at the same time to get ready for the dinner, I think! Some were doing their hair, some were tying and flipping their scarves on their heads, or helping their friend to put eye shadows on the lids, and some even just started to apply make up and didn't even get dressed yet! - And got panicked, of course.. hehe

Well..seeing some of the girls cluelessly and nervously not knowing what to wear first or even how to use them, reminds me of myself back when the word 'make-up' is still new to my vocabulary..

So I stood there, applying my lipstick slowly while watching every girls in the room and see how they would dress up for the night and watched them getting ready for their annual dinner.... (just to kill time, while waiting for the parents and the lil' brother. I thought I wanted to be in there just for 5 minutes!)

And then suddenly I heard beside me, there was this one innocent, clueless girl, talking to her friend and grumbled about how she doesn't know how to use any make up on..and sobbing that she wanted to look nice, but don't know how.. and asking for their help..

Her friends didn't know that much too, so they declined and continue with their business of course.. I mean at this kind of night/event, everyone wants to look nice right. So of course their face is their priority right? hehe..
So anyway, as everyone was busy with their own face to color up a bit.. this poor girl keep on asking "Am I doing it right?" - she was applying foundation at the time..  And really don't know whyyy she even did that..

And after she finished with her foundation, she asked her friend once again.. "Okay..then what?".
Her friend handed her the eye shadow palette and said, "Here, use this.. Just apply it on your eyelids".

So this 'kepochi' girl, looked at her, while she was applying her mascara, - to see how that poor girl gonna apply the eye shadow... So there she was.. stood there, not knowing what to do..and didn't want to ask for her busy friends to help her either.. So she stood there silently, while holding the eye shadow palette, and reading what the descriptions/ingredients that was written on the label, I think...

At that time, I really really felt so kesian towards the girl.. Because I really know the feelings of wanting to look nice but don't know how and so afraid to try because you think you'd look weird..

So I looked at the girl and smiled...and said, "Hey.. would you like me to help you with your make up? I can do it for you if you'd like". She looked at me with bright and exciting eyes, and with an immediate reply, she said "YESSS! Nakkkkk!!" Together with her friends actually... the four girls responded the same answers to me.. hehe. I find that cute! Everybody was desperate to look nice..and everybody wants help...

So anyway.. I helped the girl with her make up. I did exactly like how I always make myself up.. only thing, I was using their make up.. - It wasn't a complete set, though. And the colors were not really a good quality and I had a hard time sticking the colors to the face, actually.. But at least, it was good enough to brighten up the face a bit. So that's good enough, I think. But still, after a few attempts of trying to put on an eyeliner on her upper lids, I gave up. So I took out from my handbag, and used my liquid eyeliner instead. And I also used my mascara (and gave her away), and use my brow polish, by the way. - Cuz they don't have any brow pencil in the make up pouch that they bring.. (Luckily I bring my make up, ey? hehe)

So while I was doing her make up..some of the girls were looking at me surprisingly..because all of a sudden, one of their errr...I can say 'nerd' friends, had a little make up artist that came with her to the Marriott. hehehe ;p
Everyone was like, "Wahhhhh....lucky youuuu!".. And can't wait for their turns.

So I helped the girls with their make up, and their scarf. And..I ended up almost an hour in there and was sweating real bad! tskkk. But then after almost an hour in there, I had to stop because my parents were worried about me, not showing up at the restaurant, while they have eaten a few meals already! haha.. They thought I was lost. I guess, if they didn't call me that night to ask me where I was, I think I might just ended up coloring everybody's face in there, not knowing when to stop! heh.. It was really tiring actually, I had to stand with my 5-inch heels, and the place was so cramped up, making it so crowded and hot and sweaty... But it was okay..
At least I know, I have made their night. (err... well I hope I did! ;p)
And hoping that they were happy to see that they too, can look beautiful.... =)

************************************

Really, making someone happy can really make you feel good... My parents taught me that really well. They always say, we must always help people when they are in need.. And I always hear this line from my dad like all the time, "The more you give, the more He will repay and give back to you". And I believed that.. Because it's true!

By making and helping people's day..especially the random ones, I would feel really really happy - knowing that I do not need them to repay me back, or feeling like I want them to repay me, one day, some day, somehow... Bcuz there won't be a little devil's voice in you that kinda "mengungkit" about it if things go wrong between you and the person you've helped..you know what I mean? But if you help random people, you know God will repay you somehow and  best of all, you didn't even know and remember the person you help! So..there won't be any case of "mengungkit"... And that noble act of yours would be considered as "ikhlas". So when you're being ikhlas, there'll be more chances for you to get your reward from Him, in no time! hehe.. Am I making any sense here?? (I hope I do! hehe ;p)

Anyway, it's a nice feeling...that you too, should do it! You can help people by giving a ride to those you see walking down the road, or helping people lifting up and carrying their stuff, or at least.. giving some donations in any kind of form, money, clothes, food, etc! Just as long as making them happy!! This is one of the reasons why I love doing "giveaways" in my blog...to make random people happy!
Trust me, by doing something good like this, you would really feel good about yourself, knowing that you have helped and done something right to people! =)
So...marilah kita sama-sama beramal! hehehe

P/s: So sorry, I didn't take a picture with her..as this was a spontaneous act, and I was sooo busy doing the make up for the girls and was so tired from standing for 1 hour plus in there, so I forgot!! heee

P/ss: Speaking of helping people, with the Japan tsunami disaster, I think this would be the very best time for you to do something good and help the people in need!! They need prayers and help from all of us! Remember, even though your donation is small, but it will definitely make a HUGE difference!!! So PLEASE, we need as much donations as possible! You can donate via Groupon Malaysia (every RM 3 that we donated, they will donate RM 3 more, up to RM25,000. And the money will go directly to the Japanese Red Cross via Malaysia's Red Crescent Society!)
So donate today!!!

Style Sunday: The Yellow Coat

Was playing dress up the other night, and while I was diving into my wardrobe to find those tops that I never got the chance to wear them (yet), I found this cute little yellow coat of mine!! - which I got years ago when I was in Amsterdam..but never got the chance to wear them yet (cuz I bought it on our last day there. And since then, I only get to go for holidays during Summer. tskk)

Anyway, here's what I put on that night..

1. A long yellow coat with a 3/4 sleeve from Calvin Klein
2. A black & white zebra printed dress from Dorothy Perkins
3. Black leggings from Forever 21
4. A black lace glove from Forever New (an Australian brand)
5. Squared yellow ring from a vintage store in Bangkok
6. Black pumps from Anya Hindmarch

Pair these up with: An imagination black bell-shaped hat like Blair Waldorf used to wear in one of the episodes of GG or.....a crochet newsboy cap may look cute too, for this look..

Oh, anddddd not to forget, the most important accessory for a girl, a structured bag! hehe. A yellow bag would be niceee... Mmmm =)

P/s: Should I start watermarking all my pictures again? Someone told me, there's a few bloggers who took the photos on my blog without permission/telling me or without crediting it to me. Hmm..but it's kinda leceh la pulak kan... =/

Before hitting the sack...

These days, there are 5 things that I would do and use (excluding the facial regime) before hitting my bed, everyday.. And they are; using miswak, kohl eye liner, put some attar oil on my neck and wrists, take one glass/sachet of my GoGeous drink, spread some body butter onto my body and lastly, wear my eye mask! I know it sounds a lot..but if I don't do all these, I would feel incomplete! hehe.. ;p
(Unless of course, if I am dead exhausted, then I might just jump onto my bed and doze off within seconds..and couldn't care about any beauty products to apply!)

Anyway, I would do all these, right after I apply my night time beauty regime on my face. Before this, I would apply my usual skincare routine, and then after that, it was just gonna be some body lotions, and take my beauty drink, and yes of course my sleeping mask too (this is really essential for me, otherwise I really can't sleep), then only I go to sleep in peace..

But...after reading a book that I got months ago, about our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w's personality, characteristics, practice and sunnah (- which means that its a really good example to follow),  I now have some new other 'beauty' products in my regime before I hit the sack! ;)

This is a great book! Thought me a lot of things that I don't know about our Prophet

There are many many many interesting topics.. And one of the things that caught my eye is the "Bercelak" section.. hehe =)

I'll do this everyday, before bedtime now! - I really like the sound of " dapat menumbuhkan bulu mata"!! hehe ;p

And I really really do believe whatever our Prophet did/said, must have a reason. So yes, I am going to wear the kohl eyeliner to bed everyday, to improve my eye sight...

And read this, taken from some Hadiths:

"If anybody amongst you applies Kohl (in his eye), he has to do that in odd numbers".

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) also said:
"Stick to applying the antimony, as it clarifies the sight and grows the eyelids". - By Ibn Majah and Al albani
"Kohl protects the health of the eye and strengthens the sight. Some kinds of Kohl add beauty to the eye, and when sleeping it has more benefit as the eye is still." - Zad Al-Miad, 4/280]
Ibn Majah and others, Ibn Abbas, (Radiya Allahu Anhuma) said:
"The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) used to have a Kohl container and used to apply Kohl 3 times in each eye".

Anyway, this book has a lot of things that tells you about our Rasullulah and his practice.. But today, I'm just gonna share about some tiny part of beauty/health things that he did..
First, that kohl eye liner, second is...some perfume! Yes, he too, wears a perfume! They call it attar =)

Well..it does not say in here that he would wear it before bed time.. hehe.. But he was known to love good smells.. And the Hadith indicates that perfume was an important article in the Prophet’s home, and that his wives were keen to ensure that he had some perfume to wear when he left home. He wanted to make sure that he had a pleasant smell when he met people..

And because it is sunnah to wear some perfume, so I am keen to have a pleasant smell anytime, anywhere, every time and always! - Including bed time! (As an aromatherapy!) hehee ;p

So the third one that I would want to follow from now on would be the miswak. What is miswak? Well.. it is a teeth cleaning twig.

Studies have inferred that Miswak is better than toothpaste for preventing gum disease. It is being known as chewing stick in the western world and is being looked upon as a form of alternative medicine. - taken from here.
Go read that great article! Even the westerners have agreed on this amazing miswak thingy! ;)

Maybe you should try it yourself too!!

So..there you have it..

That's the three additional things I'd do before my bedtime these days! ;)

Seriouslyyyy... I like cleaning my teeth using miswak! It felt really really clean! Gotta buy more of these twigs whenever I go to Saudi again! (Or do they have it in here? Where can I buy, anyone know?)

So these are my current beauty regime before bedtime! ^_^

I would clean my teeth using miswak, then after using all my beauty products on my face, I'll wear the kohl eye liner, and next, I'll drink my beauty drinks, and then slather some body butter on my skin..and lastly, put on my sleeping mask..and ready to hit the sack! ;)

I've used miswak, and applied my eyeliner, my attar oil.. And now I'm all wangi and ready to hit my bed! Oh hey..my kaftan matches my duvet la! hehe

Buenas Noches, Tesbaheen ala Khair, Selamat Malam, and Good Night everyone!! ^_^

And yes, you just wasted a few seconds of your life reading me babbling in the middle of the night! ;p

I guess..if you can read this post, that means this application really rocks! Haha ;p
