The Dipped Row Special Raya Sale!

Have you guys bought your Raya purchases yet? Dresses, abayas, baju kurungs, shoes, bags, etc? As of the third day of Ramadhan, I only have 2 dresses for now..hehe. Let's hope in the next 27 days before Eid, I won't be window shopping that much, or else the number of my dresses might probably increase every other day! LOL. ;p

Anyway, I received an email a couple of days ago from Dipped Row - an online jewelry brand, that they're having a special Raya sale! You'd get 15% off on all orders above RM 100! How exciting is that! Looking at their head-turning collection, I already imagine what baju to pair the necklaces that I got my eyes on with!

By the way Dipped Row was founded by three childhood friends, Karina, Azura and Lina, who are self-confessed jewellery addicts. Every piece in the collection is personally curated to showcase a glimmer of their different personalities and style. Their collection features distinctive yet versatile jeweleries, from simple dainty bracelets to head-turning statement necklaces that would surely complement and elevate any ensemble. Necklaces and earrings are embellished with crystal clusters, floral patterns and brightly colored resin stones, while the bracelets are swathed in exotic stingray, phyton and ostrich leather! Every piece is drool-worthy!

Let me just show you a glimpse of what kind of items do the brand carries! - You would want to see more! Look!

Very beautiful pieces, no?!

I love the starfish bangle. Unfortunately they're sold out! :(

Love this Glitter Bug clutch!

How I wish I can display my jewelry collection like this in my wardrobe!

Can you imagine..having rows and rows of sparkly colorful necklaces right in front of me?!
*drools*

Anyway, these are the pictures that I got from the Dipped Row Party that I was invited to, a couple of months ago. I remembered how exciting it was, seeing lotsa cool jewelries on the display table! It's like seeing frosted candies! There were a lot of pretty necklaces and bangles for us to try that day... and we even get to bring home some too, apart from the goodie bag that each of us got from Bobbi Brown and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf drinks! :)

So happy to get my hands on them first! ;)

Really?
Well my man once gave me a mother of pearl earrings when he was in Bangkok last 2 years. But I couldn't wear it because I don't have any piercings! LOL

I love this clutch!!! So chic and edgy!

Nope, these are not earrings! These are sugar cookies!

Now these are the real frosted candies/cupcakes! They were real yummyyyy!

By the way, one of the coolest thing we did that day was to customize our own jewelry!
We were given the opportunity to choose any piece of Dipped Row diamond necklace that was laid on the table, and give it a little makeover by painting it with nail polish! - How awesome is that? I have never thought of doing that before!

Now that I've done this, I might start painting and coloring my other necklaces that I have at home as well!
I love this idea! It's brilliant!

I chose to paint my necklace in blue and yellow since I don't have any yellow necklaces in my collection..

I thought mine was just...average

But I was wrong!
I was one of the winners for the contest! Yay! More Dipped Row items for me! hehe.

The two winners! Yeay I'm one of the them!

Thank you ladies for inviting me! I had a lot of fun that day!! One of the best events I attended this year!

A weekend in Marriott

One of the things that I've always wanted to do in my life, before I get married is to go somewhere alone. I mean to go for a holiday/vacation all by myself.

I realized I would prefer to enjoy all the things that I like to do in my leisure time (a.k.a hobbies), alone than having a company. For example, shopping, dining, sight seeing, cleaning, driving,  designing/creating/doing creative stuff, and etc etc. I would prefer to do all this alone. Not that I dislike to have a company with me or anything... (I love that too) But I think, when I do all that just by myself, I feel...more independent and I'd be more focused to do the things I love with no distractions and interruptions whatsoever! Oh, and I get more freedom too! haha.

So anyway, traveling alone, or vacationing alone has always been one of the things I'd like to do some day. But I never got the chance to do it yet... probably because I've had quite a few health issues last time when I travel. (if you've read my previous posts, you'll know why) So...traveling alone outside of Malaysia would be kinda freaky for me as I kept thinking at the back of my mind...what if something happen to me? Who would take care of me if that problem of mine attack me? What if I die in the middle of strangers? What would they do to me? What will happen to my body? And some other weird thoughts. haha. So yeah..that thing always stops me from fulfilling my desire to travel outside Malaysia alone. haha. Other things....I don't worry so much actually. Because...I think, I can take care of myself! heh

So last Friday, I decided to use some vouchers that I got from my dad to spend some quality me time at Marriott Putrajaya. - So much of traveling/vacationing alone, huh? haha. Okay maybe next time I'll choose a place that would be quite far from my house! ;p

Well I've had quite a rough and stressful week actually, and I really need to unwind a bit. So I decided to pamper and lose myself in a nice huge bedding, with a nice warm bubble bath, and a nice fluffy towel..and some nice food all for myself! So I went there. Had such an amazing time spending some me time doing all the things I love and to spoil and relax myself!

Dining alone in a huge bed was sooooo nice!
^__^

So I lugged with me..all girly things I adore to use at the hotel! - My fave body products...my fave facial stuff, my fave hair products...my fave sleep attire, and my fave book and movies! hehe..

Relaxing in a tub while watching Bride Wars!

Facial time!
Using my fave brand - the Beauty Clinic Mediheal from Hansaegee Nature!
(nose pore pack, gel eyefill patch and the pore-stamping charcoal mineral mask)

I just got this recently..and it's my first time using a black tissue mask actually! It's called the H.D.P Pore-Stamping Charcoal-Mineral Mask. I think it's kinda exciting to wear a black mask than a white one. Especially when this mask has a really deep, high definition pixel of the black color! Makes me feel like I'm a Zorro or... Darth Vader or something! haha

Why do I love Beauty Clinic Mediheal masks? Like I said many times in my previous post: because their mask is the only brand I know that is rich with essence/serum!!! It's highly concentrated! - See how soaking wet my tissue mask really is??!

Imagine...when you put the wet mask on your face... Imagine how nice it is to feel all the essence absorbing into your skin! It's so relaxing! Plus, the scent of this mask has the nicest smell of all the masks I tried from this brand so far! So double the awesomeness!

So anyway...why did I bring this mask to the hotel instead of some other mask that I have? Well..I needed a clay mask for my tired, pimply skin. But I also need a hydrating mask too since I've had quite  a bad dry, flaky skin lately. So, I brought this mask along with me because it gives me just what I needed for that night! - I need to detox my face! And this mask claims to control the excessive sebum, tighten the open pores and purify the skin while leaving it moisturized! So yes, this is the mask I needed to unclog my clogged pores and purify my dirty skin... while I dry my hair and prepare myself for a good night sleep... ^__^

I love how fit the mask really is for my face, by the way! It's like the size of the mask is made for my face shape! It just fits like a glove! Coolness! ^__^

While drying my hair, I wore this mask....which now made me looked like I'm a Darth Vader who just changed to a white outfit! hahaha ;p

Anyway, like most masks...you should wear it after you've cleansed your face and have applied the toner/astringent too. Then leave the mask on your face for a good 20 to 30 minutes! When you've done removing the mask, just pat dry the skin and let the skin absorb the remaining essence! Then...have a great sleep! And wake up with bright, happy skin! hehe

I just got back from the hotel today, actually. And I'm super duper extremely tired because I had quite a long and exhausting day today. So I'm gonna leave you with just my facial post first for now, and will continue to write more on my relaxing getaway that I just had this weekend in my next post, okay?

In the mean time, if you would like to try this great mask that I have, kindly leave me an email and I will post it to you for you to try! The mask is really nice..and you should definitely give it a try!
Only two lucky readers will get this. So...if you want it, please leave me an email or blog too if you have one and let's share the love! Otherwise, you can just purchase this mask at Hansaegee Nature's website! It's only RM 11.90!!!

Oklah..it's time for bed. I'm glad I spent a great weekend all by myself! Definitely gonna do this more often before I have a husband to teman me everywhere...hehe.  So now, I will cross out the number 10 in my 50 Things To Do Before I Die list.. hihi

Have a great week ahead you guys!

XOXO,
Shazzy.

Photoshoot at NSTP

I had fun at NSTP's office last Tuesday, doing a photo shoot and a little interview with them. Me/my blog was chosen to be featured in their Blog of the Week column or something like that, for their Harian Metro paper.. Oh, I feel so honoured! Thank you for choosing my blog, guys! ;)

So the sweet gal, Miza interviewed me that day at their office... It was my first time there. The place is hugeeeee, I tell you!! hehe. I didn't know Berita Harian, NST and Harian Metro is under the same company... and now, they are under Media Prima pulak..

Anyways..we chatted quite awhile and she asked me quite a lot of questions regarding my blog - When did I started blogging, what do I blog about...yadda yadda yadda... hehe. Just some pengenalan about me and my blog la basically..

Then, we had a photo shooting session...

Didn't bring much props to the studio for the photo shoot. Just my laptop, which I almost lost that day! - I accidentally left it tepi jalan...while answering a phone call! Goshh..so careless!!! That's what happened when you have a lot of things on your mind! Sigh.. T___T
(Thank God for the sweet abang guard who took care of it and kept it for me!!! God bless youuuuu! I don't know what would I do if I have lost it foreverrrr... All my work, memories, research stuff are in there! Menangis akuu kalau hilang! tskkk..)

So anyways... the photo shooting were not that long. I think it was around 30 minutes only! Unlike the photo shoot I did with Utusan which took us about 3 hours! hehe. But that one because I changed my outfit..and then went to a few places for the photo shoot some moree.. haha. But it was so fun! (I mean...I love taking pictures, if you don't know it already! LOL ;p )

Yes I love taking pictures. Howeverrrr..... I can only do my same old, same old, boring pose! hahah. That's my pose every morning in front of the mirror, taking my Outfit Of The Day / What I Wear Today post on Instagram! LOL. Forgive me, I don't know any other pose..so that usual one will do, ok?! (I mean I knowww them...but I know I won't look as good like my usual pose! haha ;p)

Ready.. 1, 2, 3...
Strike a pose and smile!!!
*flashes*

The column will be out next week! I reaaaallly hope they chose a good picture of me... haha. Ok lah, wanna write on SK II next. Stay tune! Ciowww! ;)

Weekend Project: Cleaning the Make-Up Brushes!

This morning I had nothing else better to do, I decided to clean my make-up brushes since I have been meaning to get them done for a few weeks already, but always didn't get the chance to do so! haha. So today I managed to do it anyways..so yeay! ^__^

By the way, so sorry that I haven't been blogging that much this week. I had a few events to attend and also, my internet has been down for a few days already! So sad! (I get depressed when there's no internet! haha)

Ok now ladies, let me show you here how I clean my make-up brushes!

First off, what you'll need are:
  1. Your dirty/used make up brushes
  2. The brush cleaner solution (or you can use the nail polish remover as well)
  3. Baby soap/shampoo (or you can use a gentle face cleanser too, like Cetaphil)
  4. An empty bowl
  5. Towel
  6. Additional: Baby Wipes, Olive Oil or Hair Conditioner (I didn't use this today.. I thought my brushes were clean enough that I didn't need them! hehe)

OK, the first step is to dip and dampen the brushes with warm water..

Then squirt a few drops of your baby shampoo or a gentle soap into the bowl.
Rub the brushes gently. (The lather may be a bit colorful)
Leave it for a few minutes..

And then take the brushes out and blot them on a towel. Press it gently..
If you see there's still dirt on it, it means you have to clean the brushes again!
This time, you have to clean them thoroughly under the running water

Run the bristles of the brushes under lukewarm water. You need to wet them with the hairs pointing downwards as this will help prevent any water getting in to or down in to the metal or bamboo handle brushes.. Then put a drop of baby shampoo again on the bristles and rub in the shampoo gently, until you have a bit of a lather forming. (Put a heavy drop on for blush, foundation, and powder brushes, and small drops for concealer, eyeliner, and other small brushes) This step is to ensure that you clean and get to almost every bristle of your brush! Make sure that you rinse them thoroughly. Rinse until there is no more visible lather, and keep rinsing!

Next, blot the brushes dry on a towel..and check whether or not there's still any make-up residue left on the brushes...

Then pour the brush cleaner solution into your bowl. I used a Brush Cleaner from Shu Uemura. I heard the one from MAC is good too. Maybe I'll give that a try after mine is finish! :)

Put all your brushes into the bowl and soak the bristles with the alcohol solution for a few minutes for that added cleaning step!

And just let it dry!

Now that your brushes are perfectly clean, you need to focus on another aspect of thoroughly cleaning your brushes....which is the handle! When you use your makeup brushes you are transferring germs, bacteria and even make up onto the handles of your brushes. So do clean them as well! I only use baby wipes for this..

Lastly, lay the brushes flat on a towel overnight. Rotate the brushes or flip them over after a few hours if you desire. Let brushes dry completely before using. Dry time will depend on size and brush density..

That's it!

Cleaning your make up brushes on a regular basis can help remove old makeup, dirt &debris, bacteria, oils and dead skin cells. Another benefit of keeping them clean is softness, as make up buildup on your brushes can make them feel scratchy. Hence cleaning your brushes on a regular basis will help keep your make up brushes soft and supple. This is especially great for people with sensitive skin like me! So do clean your brushes often, guys! Ideally everyday..but who has time for that, right? haha. Hmm..I think I need to make this activity as a once-a-week thingy lah. Gotta include this in my timetable then! hehe..

So, how often do you clean your makeup brushes, ladies? :)

Shazzy.
