The Red Lips

Red lipstick is a universal classic color and has yet to go out of style. And I've been meaning to buy and wear this color, but every time when I draw this color onto my lips, I'm just so afraid of getting out from my room! I think, I can never pull off this look! It's too bold for me I guess? Or maybe it was just me? Or maybe bcuz I didn't know the right way how to apply it! hehe..

As much as I love to see people who can pull off the red lips look, and would love to try out the look, I think, it won't and can never look good on me! tskk. Hmm...I don't know la, but I still prefer to stick to my usual lip color; pink, orangey, brownish, nude, pale, soft red, and so on.. So, whenever I'm in doubt, I always go back to these usual favourite colors of mine.

It's much safer I think. (Oh, I'm such a boring person! Don't dare to try out different things! heee)

So anyway... the other day, while I was browsing some stuff at Topshop after work, the SA came to me and asked me to try out their make up. They have some new colors/stuff according to the SA. Oh, I do love their make up so much. It's really really awesome. (I'm gonna switch to this brand bit by bit!) So I tried different, different colors on my skin. I even tried their purple lipstick! And surprisingly, it looked good on me! I guess because I have a naturally pink/almost red lips, so..when I glide that purple color on my lips, it turned out to look nice with that two color combo, I think? Hmm..

I didn't buy the color though because I still look the "same" like any other make up look I tried before.. I said to her, I wanted to look something different. Something that I've never tried before..so she asked me a few questions, and suggested me The Red Lips Look, as it's the IN THING, she said. Well...I know and well aware about that, it's just that, I'm not the kind of person who would wear just about anything on the trend/fashion even if it won't and does not look good on me... But, she did ask me to try it first..

So yeah, I played around with the colors they have... I tried mostly red shades..

Oh myyy...I tried so many different look, and the SA convinced me that I look nice with the red lips look, and I can pull it off. Unsure of her statement, I even asked a pretty girl beside me who were trying to find the right shades for herself too! Haha. Sorry babe, I had to kacau your shopping moment! But yeah, she agreed with the SA too.. But still, I was so not confident with the look! Part of me said it was okkkayyy. Not too good, but not too bad either. But part of me said it kinda look "over" and dramatic and bold (in an ugly kind of way! haha). Part of me said I don't know! haha. Of course lah, this was my first time trying a red lip look (unless you count the Tarian India & Tarian Melayu contest I entered during primary school, as well! ;p), so of course, I was pretty nervous as to the outcome! But the SA keep on saying how nice it looked on me, blablabla... - I thought maybe she was just trying to sell the stuffs.. So I said to her, I wear that color first..and will decide later..

Well, I was alone and had no one to tell me whether I look okay or not. And I didn't want to buy something that I'm not sure of, that I would wear it again and again..although it just cost me about 40 plus..  I mean, why buy something that you REALLY unsure of! So yeah...I walked around the mall with that shocking red lips (it's kinda like a bit of orange too, I think..), and I noticed that every one who were near/noticed me, would glance at me, and leaving me feeling a bit of self conscious! haha. I don't know whether because it's too red and look SO weird on me...or because it's nice? (HA HA ;p)...maybe they didn't even realize about my lips, maybe it was something else and I'm just being so perasan and so paranoid and self conscious lebih lebih. LOL ;p

But...as soon as I entered the car (A'ai fetch me), he was kinda surprised with my look/make up (with that bright red lips and bronze powder I put on my face! huhu) and said it's kinda a bit too much!!! Hahaha! So there you go! That explains why the weird look I got just now? LOL.  Okayyyy...no more red lips for me, I guess! ;p

Oh well..can't really see I think? It's the only picture I took, and plus, the color has fade a bit by the time he arrived to fetch me... Ahhh...never mind! I have another photo of me wearing a red lipstick..and this time, it's REALLY red! hehe

I was trying out different look in my room, last time.. This was my attempt to look like zaman dahulu kala. (That explains the ugly bold eye brows. LOL) And yesss....I failed terribly! Heeee. Well actually, I got an invitation to attend a fashion show for MIFA or something..for the Raya Fashion Show, and the theme was "A Tribute to Saloma".

And the dress code was "Dress to the Era". It was really on short notice and I had nothing to wear and none of my clothes in my wardrobe can really suits the theme. So I thought of playing around with make up pulak lah... And tried to match the red lips with my top and earrings and shoes. But then, yeahh..I've failed terribly.. hahaha! ;p

Oh yeah, and I ended up not going to the event pun! haha. Well, not really because of my outfit nor make up...or whateverrr. It's because I was workingggg! Sobs... That's the thing I hate about working, because when you started working, there are so many events that you had to turn down as you're so busyy and got no time! Oh, such a bummer! tskk. Oh well...that's life, ain't it? Nothing's really pretty, Wany. Including your red lipstick! LOL. Apa kaitan.. ;p



So anyways...what do you think? Do I look okay with the red lips look? Or stick with this kinda make up? :)

Well....I think red lips would only look nice on special occasions, and not to be worn for a daily look, right? Hmm...I think, I'm still gonna brush up my skill for this red lips look again, till I won't look terrible...at least to my eyes! LOL. Cuz it's nice to change the style a bit, isn't it? hehe ^_^

.......because I'm a nice sister! :p

The other day, while I was doing a bit of work in my room, I heard a knock on my door... Then, bukak2 je, there's someone who made a cute face and said,

"Kak Waniii.... Nak facial? Saya ada jerawat. Boleh buatkan facial takkk? Pleashhhh.. Nak yang best2 punya..." (I was like...   -_-" Hmmm...  Gedix betul adik aku ni la..huhu..) 

So because I am a nice sister, so I said to him,

"Okayyy can. But let me finish my work first... And also, with one condition: If you want me to do yang best2 punya, you gotta let me take your photo of this "intensive facial treatment", too! haha. Boleh ke???" (I thought he was gonna say no to it, so that I don't have to do the facial, cuz maybe he's shy or what la kann, cuz being a guy kannn.... But then he agreed to it! Huh.. I forgot that my brother is one cool dude. LOL)

"Can. But make sure you do it super nice. Like the one in salon. And I want soothing music too, so I can sleep. Dekat salon kan selalunya macam tuu..."   =_='

Pffffft.


So there I was, after finishing my work, I took my bedside table and prepare all the stuff needed for this so called Intensive Facial Treatment, in my room. I took towels, sponges, my products, etc etc, and all the things needed for him.. and I also searched on YouTube for any serene sound/music for this gedix boy, as requested! Pffft.

Preparation.. 

I found one music on YouTube and hit the Autoplay button.. See that "Serenity" music on that monitor? haha

Theseeee are the products used for this little boy! 

Cleansers, deep pore cleansers, scrubs, masks, antiseptic oil, essence, serums, moisturizers, sponges, cotton buds, tissues, facial wipes, facial cotton, etc etc! I even have face steamer/sauna for him! hehe. See...my little salon is complete, you know! Jadi, marilah datang ke kedai saya! hahaha ;p

These are all of my products that I used for myself too, actually. And most of the products are from Sothys.

So if you're wondering what are my skincare routine, read on to find out! ;) These are the things I put on my skin, bila tengah rajin..hehe. Sebab sangat banyak! So, normally I would only do like this "intensive treatment" once a week je.. Or maybe once a month! LOL

Oh yeah...before I start, let me warn you again ladies, that our model today is a man. No, scratch that. He's more like a Wolverine to me! LOL.  - I asked him to shave his beard first before I do it, but he said, something like dia dah 'bernazar' about something, and will shave off after the "nazar". (Hmm...nazar about what also, I dunno laa. I think maybe about his business kot? Tah la..)

But anyways...let's get started! ;)

Last week I appeared on The Star, for a P&G/Pantene event that I went few weeks ago along with other bloggers...

This week, appeared again on Berita Harian, for that half-day spa event that we went at Vila Manja. - Super awesome, I tell you! (Will blog about it later!)

And today, I just bought a Nona magazine for September issue, that's featuring my mom's stories on Mekah......with me! heheh

Attempting to Be Straight.

Straight eyebrows.


Damn, they are pretty! Today I watched Style Star for hours, and watched so many beautiful celebrities. Natalie Portman, Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley, Mila Kunis, etc etc, just to name a few. Most of the women they showed on that show today, were my fave celebrities.. And they all looked so pretty! (Duhhhh! ;p)


From dress to their make up, hair, the accessories and the shoes, etc etc! Everything is so..perfect! One thing I really dig about the whole time I watched the show, was theee EYEBROWS! Straight eyebrow that is!


Goshh... SO PRETTY.


I've been a fan of people with straight eyebrows for years and years. I really do think that these people look elegant with that kind of eyebrows! How I wish I have one. Or at least, know how to arch it! >_<

I don't know about you but I actually love thicker, fuller eyebrows. I much prefer them to eyebrows that look like they've been penciled on. And I do think, eyebrows are a part of our face that can make or break our look. You know what they say...the eyebrows are like a frame to your eyes! So it is important to arch and groom them nicely!

Look how different Keira Knightly look with that skinny & slender eyebrows, and compare it with her naturally beautiful, bold eyebrows.

See... different shapes and thickness does affect the entire face and how you would look! So I do think arching and grooming it with the right shape, size and style is important according to your hair color, face shape and your eye shape/size.

There are many factors to consider when arching your eyebrows. Like when to start the curve - after the outer edge of the iris or middle or etc, then the tail - how long it should be, next, the space between the nose bridge, the brow bone, etc etc...

Hmm....It's really complicated eh, this brow thingy? haha. Luckily my brows are not that bushy, that needed to do a lot of work on it.. But I would love to learn how to draw eyebrow perfectly, and get those perfectly shaped eyebrows like Megan Fox, Camilla Belle, or, Kim Kardashian, etc etc! ;)

Choose your brow shape wisely, and ensure that it'll flatter your face! ;)

For me, super thin and over plucked eyebrows are out of date, and not to mention, it kinda look fugly too..and skanky-ish, don't you think? Well...like I said, I have a thing with people with thick, full, straight (just slightly arched) eye brows! Either they're man or woman. I really think those kind of eyebrows are hot! I want that kind of eyebrows. It's lovely! And it's in! It seems that thick eyebrows are staying in fashion for years now.. Think Audrey Hepburn. Remember that beautiful Audrey Hepburn had some of the thickest eyebrows any actress has ever had and she was, and still is classed as one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived. And think Keira Knightly. Brooke Shields. Kristen Stewart. Natalie Portman. etc etc!



We all know, eyebrows come in different shape, thickness, color and boldness. But for me, those full (not too thick nor thin for your face), and straight (not really straight but not too arched either), and bold (hair doesn't look too bushy or bald) eyebrows are the best!


Look at these celebrities! Their eyebrows are pretty and perfect! Mmmm...Aren't they beautiful?????!!!!!

So anyway, after looking at all those pretty celebrities...I also wanna look as pretty as them as well! haha. So I did a little experiment today, without trimming or plucking any hair on my brows, I did that straight eyebrow shape that I have always fond of!

And..... This is the result!

....with a little help from my foundation, concealers, powders and eye shadows! hehehe ;p Now...how do I look with straight eyebrows? Can you see any difference? hehee ;p

Oh well..I still prefer my natural eyebrow. Easy. Not much work to be done! Take me less than 2 minutes to get 'em ready. This one above, it took me one whole hour just to get my brow straight!! -Well because..I did not trim them. THAT's WHY. huhu..

But still, I'm no longer gonna be straight anymore! ;p It's such a tedious job for an unskilled and unprofessional make up artist like me! hahaha

What's in Your Room?

Hey girls!

Real sorrrrryyyy for the sporadic updates! I really tried to update as often as I could, but I was just too caught up with things lately and especially last week! tskk. And yes, I do remember to let y'all know who is the winner for my Blogniversary contest..but it'll be in my next post ya! So stay tune! hehe ;)

So anyways, a lot of you have been asking me to do like a "Room Tour" of my bedroom.  You girls are really interested in seeing things in my room, eh? haha. It's messy, I tell you! I have a lot of things that sometimes I too, get irritated by it although I love them so much! haha.. ;p

So today, in this post, I'm just gonna show you quite a bit of my stuff in my room.. These are like 40% of my stuff in my room.. You've already seen my scarf rack and my shoe home... Now let see the rest of things in my room! ;)

Let's start with my bedside table....

These are the things that filled my left bedside table. I just put them there since I don't have any other frames and pictures. Frankly, I don't really like all these frames. Because of the color, actually. They don't match my room. And I think it looks kinda messy with all that color combo - red, white, black and silver. Pfft. I like white frames by the way. And I like black & white photos too. hehe.. 

Hmm...maybe I'm gonna start buying them when I get my new room ;)

(Don't get me wrong, I love all the frames that you gave me, it's just they don't match my room! hehehehe ;p)

Next... below the table, there's a magazine and a little book rack...

So I put all my fave readings in there...and read before bedtime, if I'm not too lazy nor sleepy! 

I also have this too, near my bed area.. My little sleeping masks! hehe. I love to sleep with these on... Probably because I kinda have this sleeping problem, so I need something to help me close my eyes so that maybe I'll sleep sooner than I thought. (Oh well..actually, sometimes I still can't sleep with that thing on! Sigh. I hate that I have this problem. Lucky that I'm sleeping alone, otherwise I'll go and kacau anyone beside me..and make the person can't sleep as well! haha) 

An English Tea Party for Plusizekitten Blog Birthday Bash with a Pedicure Spa Retreat! - One word: AWESOME!

A couple of weeks ago, Tammy my good friend, from plusizekitten.com texted me, inviting me to her 3rd Blog Birthday Tea Party at Amante Mont Kiara. That time, she was still planning a party for her Blogniversary.. And asked me whether I could attend or not as the seats are limited.. She said they'll be some English Tea Party session..and a Spa Pedicure for us too! I was so excited when I heard about this! Finally, I get to attend some girly session with her! hehe.. - We only talk/share about beauty products but never had any beauty session together! hehe... So of course I said YES to it! I love having pedicure and I have never had any Spa Pedicure yet! (Before this, I only had the normal type of pedicure. Like this!)

So it was held at Amante in Mont Kiara, around 11-ish am till 3 pm. The theme/dress code for that day was PINK! Since I don't have that many pink tops nor bottoms, I wear peach outfit and pair it up with my pink accessories for that day! hehe..

I wore a hot pink shoes (not in the picture), a pink watch, a soft pink flower ring, and a shocking pink flower corsage brooch, to follow the pink dress code. Btw, my brooch is hugeee! And I like it! hehe

So the theme was PINK...so of course, there were lotsa PINK decorations in there! And it was sooooo pweety! Seriously! I have never seen so many (pink) balloons before! All those cute little pink (and silver) balloons instantly made the place look extra extra girly and alluring to the eyes! ^_^
