The awesome way to cook!

Having a baby has changed my life 360 degree! There's no such thing as me-time anymore, and I lose lotsa sleep of course, and I definitely don't get to go to the bathroom alone anymore and taking a shower is kinda like a luxury not a necessity! haha. And one thing for sure, I definitely don't really spend hours in the kitchen to prepare and cook food! It's either I'd order a take out, or I'd just eat simple food like breads or if I really have to cook, I'd make sure it's fast, easy and convenient! In this case, I'd use an automatic cooking solution of course!

You know last time, the air fryers are all the rage in cooking! No more dunking food in deep fat. Which is so great because less oil equals healthy food! And now, we have the fully automatic stir fryers guys! Which is so awesome too, because now you can stir fry, pan fry, saute, toast, and braise using less oil as well, with no fume and stains on your kitchen walls! How awesome is that!! - This is a fast, convenient and awesomer way to cook! Oh, gotta love technology!

Recently I got my hands on the new KHIND Stir Fryer! It is one of their Signature Series collection. There are 6 products under KHIND Signature Series. I have been using this KHIND Stir Fryer for quite awhile now.. And I have to say I super love this product!!! I can just set the time to cook something...and leave it, and go check on my baby (Read: He's at that separation anxiety stage). So having this kind of technology really really save my life! I just throw everything in the pan and I can do my thing without any worries that I'll over cook or something! Just set the time and it'll cook everything by itself! It is soooo easy to use! And the best thing about this Stir Fryer is that it is super easy to clean! Since becoming a mom, I love everything that doesn't stick and easy to wash! My time is precious! haha 

Anyway, let me share with you guys a simple but delicious recipe I made using KHIND Stir Fryer; my all time favourite Macaroni & Cheese with chicken

The ingredients:

• 1 tbsp chopped garlic
• 3 tbsp chopped yellow onion
• 50g butter
• 2 tsp salt
• 1 tbsp of coarse dry parsley
• 1 tbsp of coarse dry coriander leaves
• 1 cup of water
• 1 cup of milk
• some shredded mozarella cheese 
• 1 cup diced chicken breasts
• 3 slices chicken ham
• 3 cups macaroni
• 3 slices of cheese

 Instructions:

Press the ON button and press the "BRAISE" function

Adjust the timer to 15 minute, and press "START"

Add butter

 Add chopped onion then garlic. Fried till fragrant

Add water and milk

Add slices of chicken ham 

Add chicken breasts

Add salt, dry parsley leaves and coriander leaves

Add macaroni 

When timer left 5 minute, add slices of cheese

After adding more milk, leave it for 5 min. Ready to serve!

Look! It doesn't stick!!! Sooo easy to clean, I love! What a great invention! Campak-campak all the ingredients...and tadaaaa masak sendiri within 15 minutes! haha

Shop with Rakuten!

These days with so many online shopping websites, I rarely go out anymore. I'd rather be in my most comfortable pajamas, sit on my bed with a cup of coffee in my hand and browse through shopping websites and click what to buy! I find it so therapeutic that I do it almost everyday now! hehe. Plus, it's 24 hours so I can shop at my own schedule and don't have to drag myself out, driving and stuck in jam, then find parking some more and later walk with pain, deal with crowds and lines some more... when I can just get the same item delivered to my door within days!

My shopping items for this week alone! haha. I bought some baju kurungs/dresses, shoes, chocolates, some accessories, hangers, dish rack, mini washing machine and more baju! heheee. Trust me, you don't wanna see the rest of my July shopping items! Too many things that my husband thinks I have a bit of a problem! LOL. Blame the Raya season! A girl's gotta get her new bedsheets, towels, slippers, shoes, dresses, kitchen utensils, etc, no?! :p

So if I find myself having trouble sleeping, I would browse what things to buy.. things like for household, food stuff, things for my husband, for myself, for my mom, and even for future buys like baby stuff although I'm not pregnant yet! haha. I just find strollers are such interesting items to learn about! So many different designs and colors and technology! Browsing is fun, right girls?! ^__^ For me, online shopping is always fun and relaxing! Just sit at home and wait for the packages to come to me. Ah, I love the internet! God bless whoever invented shopping websites! hehe

I love shopping on Rakuten because of their variety of products available to purchase! I find myself always browsing through the kitchen and interior stuff these days! My husband said I have too many clothes and beauty stuff already... Hence I decided to purchase items other than that two departments, so he cannot marah if he sees me buying them! hehee. Places To Buy Your Baju Raya!

Have you gotten your Baju Raya yet girls? I can't believe it's almost Raya now! Sorry for the lack of updates! :( I've been really really tired this Ramadhan. I've used my free time during this month to either sleep, or solat/reciting Quran or watch the latest sad news...or erm...do a little online shopping. heh. You know, cuz I'm not really in the mood to go out for shopping these days. Traffic jam. No parking. Queuing. Walking for hours. So yeah, shopping on the bed will do...cuz I'm lazy like that. haha. Well it's my first time celebrating Raya with my husband in Kedah, so of course I'm excited! Finally, I can wear matchy Baju Kurung and Baju Melayu with my husband for Raya! hehe. Plus...since he couldn't get us to Jakarta and have my dresses made there, he gave me the green light to shop online! Yay! God bless him! hihi ^__^

Anyways, with Hari Raya being just a few days away, you guys too must be as excited! Gearing towards Syawal, I'm sure many of us will be busy cleaning the house, planning our travels and of course finding the right outfit to wear for the first day of Raya, right?

Ok...to be honest, I had a bad experience buying from them, the first time I made a purchase with Zalora. It was almost quite a nightmare. However the problem has been solved now, and I've had quite a few transactions and purchases from them ever since..And it has been so wonderful! Maybe it was just not my luck the other day. Zalora is quite fun to shop at actually! Their service is really really good, I'm impressed! I ordered at 11 pm, I will get my item at 10 am the next day! How fast! And I even returned some items that I don't like, and I get back my refund credit within a day! Plus, they have A LOT of brands, styles and colors to choose from! I do like Zalora now! hehe (I used to curse them! LOL :p)


Number Two: Fashion Valet
Shopping at Fashion Valet has been lovely too! They stock up a lot of Malaysian/Asian designer lines like Melinda Looi, Nurita Harith, Khoon Hooi, Innai, Yadotsa, Pu3, Alia Bastamam, and many more! But mostly the good ones are always out of stock! tsk. So if you like what you see, don't just put them in your Wish List, you gotta act fast and get them in your cart! I personally like Nurita Harith's and Alia Bastamam collection. If you're looking for an understated elegance, look no further than those two designers! I love Nurita's ever since I wore my lovely Bridal Shower dress she made! This Malaysian designer offers couture, and ready-to-wear collections. Alia Bastamam's Raya 2014 line is pure feminine chic: chiffons and silks in subtle shades that make these pieces instant classics! But my most favourite range from Fashion Valet for Raya, would be the Nora Danish collection simply because they're cheap, and very pretty! ;)


Number Three: Mimpikita 
An intimate boutique in Bangsar Telawi, Mimpikita stocks a range of elegant ready-to-wear baju from their own label. Their beautifully embellished fabrics are perfect for traditional occasions, but the modern cuts and pops of colour give their line a fashion-forward appeal. You can also shop their collections online via Fashion Valet, but the designs are quite limited there. So it's better if you pay a visit to their boutique in Bangsar to have a better view for yourself!

Number Four: Modvier Bangsar

Modvier is a concept store that features young designers like Kree and 14November by Yuna. Expect to see close to thirty brands strategically placed in this hipsterly decorated concept store. Here, the options are plenty! Hijabs, abayas, skirts, baju kurungs and dresses? Modvier has got them covered! Price differs according to the designers and brands, but with RM 40 could get you a nice hijab! 

Number Five: Other Online Stores

If you’re patient and don’t mind not being able to try before you buy something, even if you don't know the brand that much, then you should shop from the comfort of your own home! Forget the hustle and fuss of driving down to crowded malls and just shop your Baju Raya with just a click of a button! Bear in mind though that delivery times vary, so order well in advance of the occasion. There are so many online shops these days. You can get your Baju Raya from Pop Look, Rakuten, Nile, Modish, Kriza and many many more! All of them sells a range of traditional wear to complete your Raya look!


Number Six: Jakel, Gulatis, Harrisons and the like 
If you’re a fabric hunter like my mom, then walking into this kinda place is an absolute joy for you. She could be in Jakel for 4 hours, scoring some fabrics! Well... that's what happened for my wedding last December! haha. Thank God they have a surau there! Otherwise shopping wouldn't be as pleasurable for her! hehe. Anyway, fabric stores like Jakel, Gulatis, Maya, Kamdar, etc in Jalan TAR holds a decent selection of fabric to make your Baju Raya. They offer a hugeeee range of fabrics! From cotton to rayon to silk to lace, and etc, you would definitely find what you like! Some of the shops I mentioned may also have a ready-to-wear collection for a last minute Raya shopping!

Banking On Water to Hydrate Skin!

I was invited to the launch of a new range from a Korea brand called Laneige, that was held at the Gardens Lifestyle Store & Cafe last week. Their new range is called the Water Bank series, which is Korea's latest and hot skincare in the market! I've heard about Laneige brand before, but I honestly haven't tried it before. But now that I've have tried it, I really think I should explore more of this brand because I love most of their products! Especially their Water Bank range, which is totally new with its ingredients, benefits and packaging!

The fundamental of Laneige skincare line is to replenish the skin with moisture. So if you have dry or dehydrated skin then their products are extra-worthy for a try.

The new Water Bank range with the new and improved 5 SKU has 8 times stronger moisturizing power compared to its previous Water Bank range. Plus, it can penetrate into the 20th layer of skin and activates the 4 dormant moisturizing genes with its new moisturizing Biogene™ Technology and Hydro Ion Mineral Water

Anyway, today I'll be reviewing the Water Bank Essence_EX and Water Bank Moisture Cream_EX, which I would consider to be the most essential steps in your skincare regime if you have dry skin. If you're always keen to try new products/brand but not sure where to start, then this essence and moisturizer would probably be the best products to test and determine how much you like the line!

The Water Bank range is not really that new in the market actually. They're already famous in Korea for their awesome result! I always envy those Koreans celebrities who have flawless skin despite putting on heavy makeup for performances each time. Oh I want flawless skin too! T_T

For me, the brand and the products are quite new because like I said, I've never explored this brand before...but having tried, touched and tested more than 5 of their products, I think I'm gonna love it for it's uniqueness!

This is the Water Bank Essence_EX

I have only started using this for 1 week for now, but this has worked quite well for me. My skin was flared up red and started to flake due to some medicines I took from my doctor a few weeks ago. I also had stubborn cystic acne on my cheeks for days now, but after a week of using this together with my DIY Manuka honey spot treatment for my acne and the Water Bank Moisture Cream, I can see that my pimple has started to come out faster and my skin felt smoother and less redness! I use this at night before bedtime and woke up with a happy face because my skin didn't look and feel oily at all!!! Amaaazing!

The essence itself is sheer white and very runny and liquidy! It's very easy to be absorbed by the skin. It has a very fresh scent too!  One thing I love about this product is that it absorbs very fast on my skin (within 30 seconds) and it doesn't feel sticky at all!

The Water Bank Moisture Cream_EX

The texture of this product is light and creamy, which I love it as if it's not sticky at all. 

This cream is ideal for normal to dry skin, as the package indicates. If you have oily or combo skin it is recommended to apply their Water Bank Gel Cream_EX instead. I use their set cream during day time and Water Bank Moisture Cream_EX during the night as it is more moisturizing and suitable for my dry flaky skin inside air-conditioning room.

Next, introducing the NEW Brightening Sparkling Water range which includes Brightening Sparkling Water Whipping Cleanser, Brightening Sparkling Pop Essence and Brightening Sparkling Water Capsule Mist

The Sparkling Water found in this range is obtained from the volcanic regions of South-Central France. It helps to promote the turnover of dead skin cells and stimulate blood circulation, which in turn makes skin looks brighter, clearer and more radiant. This bubbly range is so unique and sounds very promising at the same time, like this Brightening Sparkling Water Whipping Cleanser for example!

The texture is amaaaaazing! It's like putting whipped cream on your skin! This cleanser is infused with sparkling water, which is known for its effect on health and skin! Korean women showed great interest in sparkling water. They drink with it, cook with it..and even splash it on their skin for facials!

Other things that I would definitely purchase for more would be this Water Drop Tint lip product! Seriously, I'm in love with this lip tint!!

This is the first time I tried a really different kind of lip product! Water coating + Synergy Glow Effect, a new technology I suppose! It gives you a beautiful natural tint for your lips and left your lips moisturized with shiny effects! Smells great too!

I feel like collecting all colors now! Definitely my favourite lip product so far! I kinda addicted to apply this to my lips every now and then! I gave my sister to try it the other day, and she loved it too!

By the way, in conjunction with the launch of this Water Bank range, Laneige also started a local CSR program, an initiative called the "Waterful Sharing Campaign" to raise awareness on rainwater harvesting. Laneige Malaysia is partnering with Malaysian Environmental NGOs (MENGO), targeting to raise RM 60, 000 through a 3 month campaign to facilitate the installation of rainwater harvesting systems in selected children shelter homes.
