The Little Helper!

Heyyy! Wanna know something?! I prepared and cooked for today's dinner!! How weird or rather cool is that?! haha. I mean.. did I ever tell you that I still don't know how to cook? I mean..like the real meal, the heavy course! heeee. Yang senang senang/simple/instant food tu tau la.haha.. =P (What a spoilt brat rite?! Ishhh ishh..)
So of course for me to do this kinda thing would mean very much to me! =D

I used to know how to make Sayur Kangkung Masak Belacan, Masak Lemak Udang, Sambal Ikan, etc. Tapi sebab masak nye 2-3 kali je. Pastu dah ada maid balik masa tu...So pastu ilmu itu tidak di praktik kan. Maka terlupa kembali.
So..saya pun jadi tak reti nak masak balik lah! haha ;p

And well.. well well.. Today, I helped my mom to prepare for the dinner! Bangga siot..cuz most of the things, saya yang buat! haha. Ceh.. Padahal sebab mama yang bagi arahan! (Wani masuk kan tu, Wani potong sayur, Wani basuh ni, Wani duduk diam diam!...and blablablabla) LOL! ;p

Anyways..I like today's dinner! Sangat SEDAP!!! Here's what I did! (according to mama's recipes and orders, of course!)

Actually, you'll need more veggies. Not just like what I illustrated above. (I forgot to take picture earlier on). You'll need: Cabbage, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Cucumber, Carrot, Celery, Onions, Garlic and Capsicums.

Some chicken. For your main meal (Black Pepper Chicken) and for the chicken soup. (Well, this is not 'our' chicken. These are googled chicken! haha. Bcuz mom had started earlier in the kitchen and I didn't get the chance to snap it!)

Here's how to prepare for the Mix Vege Chicken Soup, the Caesar Salad and the baked Black Pepper Chicken with Brown Sauce! They are very simple! =)
The only tedious job is, making the soup. Cuz it has quite a few steps to do it..

Oh and for the main meal which is the Black Pepper Chicken pun, is easy and simple! All you need to do is to marinade the chicken for a day in the fridge before baking it in the oven. Mum marinade it earlier in the morning with herbs, lime juice, lemon, oregano, honey, black pepper, rosemary, mint, and salt. And the only part yang kena ada effort lebih sikit is to make the chicken gravy or brown sauce.. (We'll go to that part in a minute, kay!)

Okayy.. so here goes the preparation for the rest of the meal:

First, of course you have to wash all the vegetables that I've mention earlier . (Oh, just so you know.. mom told me that everytime she washes or cooks the vegetables or anything that is for our meal, she'll recite some prayers and salawat.. Cuz she said something like nanti anak anak jadi comel lagi baik...haha. Ok, I'm playin'. Not the comel part lah of course..But it's something like that lah! If you nak anak anak dengar kata, anak anak jadi baik, etc.. Haruslah berdoa/berselawat masa kita nak bagi dia makan..Well..I gotta practice and imply all this when I get married and have kids! Oh anyway..tadi masa tengah basuh basuh sayur tu, saya berdoa agar abah belikan kereta baru dan Macbook dan Camera G11 untuk saya. hahaha. Apa punya doa ntah! Heee. JK!) =P

Anyways.. after you've wash them, cut the veggies into small edible little pieces..

Like this! Heyy.. I cut this, you know! (haha. Gila tak boleh blaaa. Ni pun nak bangga! LOL) =P

Oh..and slice some eggs too!

Okayy..that's it. For the salad part, we're done. So this is the starters for our dinner.

Okayyy next..

First, you have to boil some of the chicken.. Boil it together with some cubed little potatoes..

Rebus lama lama sikit.. (This is googled chicken too! Heee)

And then after a few minutes of doing so, take out the chicken and slice them into small pieces.. (This is for you to put them in your soup. Baru lah rasa sedap, bila makan soup tu nanti ada rasa the real ayam sikit-sikit..heh) - Btw, this is not googled chicken! ;P

Okay, after you've peeled the potatoes, you have to smashed them.. And put it in a blender..

So this is the Potato Chicks Frappuccino! hahah ;p

....to mix it with the chicken stock and blend!

Next..

Shred some mushrooms..

..and some onions, celery and carrots. These would be the components in your soup! =)

Okay, mix the onions, the garlic, the carrots, the celery, the mushrooms, the sliced chicken into your pan and cook!

Transfer those veggies and chicks into a saucepot and pour the frappuccino.. Eh I mean... the blended potatoes and chicken in it! =)

And pour the remaining chicken stock and potatoes into the saucepot. So you'll have bits and chunks of potatoes, celery, carrots, onions, mushrooms and the real chicken in your chicken soup! hehe =)

Stir well!

And next, spill some evaporated milk in the soup! To make it taste more creammeyy.. Ooooh..I likee! =)

Oh, I forgot to mention..don't forget to put some salt and pepper too, ya! If your soup is too pekat, bubuh la air sikit.. =)

And...we're done!! Okay next..

As for this, we only need to prepare for the sauce because mom had marinaded it earlier in the morning and baking were in progress as I was doing the gravy. So here's how to do the tasty brown sauce:

Crush your garlic first.. Nak tumis dengan butter nanti..

Next, mix the black pepper powder with water. Kacau sampai rata.

Lepas dah tumis garlic tu, pour the mixture into the pan..

Next, pour some evaporated milk into the sauce. Stir well.

And add a little pinch of fresh cracked black pepper

All set!

Now...let's take a look at the chicken that my mom baked earlier on..

Mom baked the chicken for about 30 minutes. (Please excuse the unwipe and dusty oven! heee) ;P

After a good 30 minutes, it was time to unwrap those chicken!

And...that's it! Everything is done!

Dinner is served!! =)

So this is the Caesar Salad..

This is the creameyy Mix Vege Chicken Soup! Very nice, I tell you! =)

And the Black Pepper Chicken with Brown Sauce, one for each of us! Abah, Mama, Aizat and yours truly! =)

Bon Appetit!!

Oh heyyy... I also made a freshly squeezed orange juice as for the drinks! =)

But sorry..no recipe! hehee =P

P/S: Sorry..If you find my explanation/recipe is hard to understand. I'm very bad at explaining things! haha ;p

Okayy. Hope everyone have a nice weekend! =)

XOXO,
The Little Helper.
