Steal that Look!

Hi girls!

I've been wearing a lot of mint this year. Even my Raya attire was mint green as well! haha. It's my fave pastel color for now... (I even thought of painting my room mint, these days!) So anyways.. since I wear the color a lot, I thought I wanted to share with you guys how to wear the Aqua Mint, my way, my style! ;)

So..

Like I mentioned in my recent post below, whenever I pick up a color for my top, I would think of what other color that would match it, right? So in this case, the color Aqua Mint matches with lotsa colors! For example, the color mint green would match with dark brown, dark green, navy blue, yellow, soft pink, white, silver, etc etc! There are so many possibilities of the colors that could match with this color..so all you need to do is to play around with the shades and hues, to get the perfect combination that you're looking for! ;)

In this case, I have chosen the white color to match my top, since I thought I wanted to look clean, simple and chic.

Alice and Olivia Gwen Aqua Mint Tweed Jacket

Mango White Pants

H&M White Tank Top

D&Y Mint Green scarf

Shourouk Mint Green Chandelier Earrings

Sandra Dini Turquoise Ring

Westfield Turquoise clutch with Metallic Knot

Giuseppe Zanotti Aqua Mint Peep Toe Heels

If you notice, there's a pair of matching/same colour for each colour that I chose to "interconnected" with each other! - Aqua Mint, Mint Green and White! ;)

That's all for today's post! Stay tune for more updates ya! Have a great weekend darlings! Take care!!

Shazzy.

Style and Color

Hello girls!
Here's my Second Part of the fashion tips that I blabbered a few weeks ago.. ;p

So in this post, I'll explain to you girls on how I normally choose my clothes. I know it may sound ridiculous or silly to some of you, like...why on earth do I want to explain to people on howww to choose their clothes, right? I'm not their mother, I know! haha. But since I always get questions/emails like how do I normally choose my attire for the day...and how to look prim and proper everyday..or even asked me to teach them how to decide what to wear, or.. how to mix & match the colors... And also the step by step guide on things I do when I get dressed in the morning..yadda yadda yaddaaa...and the questions go on and on.  hehe.. - I get really weird questions sometimes; tapi tak jawab rasa kesian pulak, cuz I really wanna help them, since diorang tanya kan, so mesti la sebab tak tahu kann....
(Nasib baik tak ada yang tanya macam mana nak pakai baju, ey? hehe. Kidding ;p )

Anyway, sorry if I couldn't reply to some of you who have asked me before.. But at least I'm replying to y'all in this entry, ok? hehe.. I figured, since I always get these questions related to fashion, why not just make a post about it and share my thoughts, right?

So.....for those who are interested in my sense of style and my choice of fashion, today I'm here to share some tips that I myself would do every time I stand in front of my closet to choose my attire for the day.

And again, like I said before, I'm no expert in fashion...and this entry is not a Perasan Entry, but it's just for me to share to those who are interested with what I wear, and how I choose my items.

But one thing for sure though..... I do know what looks good or bad with what. And what color matches, and looks great when combined! heheheh ;p

So here's how I'd choose my outfit every day..

Okay...first off, when I wake up in the morning, the first thing that would pop into my head is "What do I wear today?" or "What color do I feel like wearing?".  Sometimes I would do this (questioning myself) once I get up from my bed, and while walking to the bathroom...or sometimes even when I am taking my shower! haha. - well most of the time I'd choose the color that would reflect my mood on that day!

The color blue for example, is for "I've no idea laaa.." or "I've no mood to wear other colors" or "I think I only have blue colored tops in my closet??", or "I'm feeling blue/sad/moody today" or "I just can't think" or... whatever reasons that I feel on that day, lahh! haha. -- For some weird reasons, I always wear blue whenever I think I don't have anything to wear! Pffft..)

And the color red, orange and yellow, when I feel so cheery, lively and happy. Or pink/pastel colors when I feel like being sweet.. And the list goes on! hehe.. - I really feel that the color of my outfit that I choose for the day can really affect my mood either positively or negatively --- depends on my hormone level for that week as well! hahaa.

(I like the minty color by the way. That color really makes me happy somehow! ^__^ )

So anyways...after I've done with my shower, I would dive into my closet and decide the main item, which is the top that I'll be wearing. I don't know why, but I always feel like your top is your main item/base/foundation when it comes to fashion. The rest would just act like "supporting documents" - which will make it look perfect when combined! haha. (I can't think of a better way to describe it! LOL  ;p But you get what I mean right? ) Well this may not be true, I knowww! But this is just how I feel about it, hence, the reason why I have SO MANY tops alreadyyy, but not bottoms! Or shoes...or bags too! I have overflowing tops in my closet that my mom and dad has started to nag about it! heeee... (Okay mom, I will donate some! ;p )

So with that being said... Of course, first things first, I would choose what color of the top that I want to wear, and then I'd think of the style, and then only I would think about the other items to complement with the look that I want to achieve, - like.. the color combination that would go with the top that I just picked; either black or white or creme or whatever lahh, and then...the make up look, the bag, the scarf, the accessories, etc that would go with it as well......which then, would help make the whole outfit looks Chic or Casual or Elegant or Edgy or Grunge-y or whatever it is that I'm aiming to look like for the day! ;)

Okayyy... So here are the simplified steps for you: (HAHA ;p)

  1. Pick a color that you want for the day
  2. Think of the style that you want to achieve (Sweet/Feminine, Edgy, Casual, Elegant, Glamourous, Chic, Sophisticated, Simple, etc etc!)
  3. Dive inside your closet, and choose your top.
  4. Then, play with the other colors for the rest of the items that you'll be wearing to match and complement the whole outfit and style that you want to achieve! - Here it means, your pants, your bag, your accessories, your hair/scarf, your make up, your shoes, etc!
  5. Wear them.
  6. Stand in front of the mirror and check everything!
  7. Be confident.
  8. Be happy.
  9. Be awesome.
  10. And lastly, take a picture of yourself and upload on Instagram before going out! hahahaha ;p

Ok sorry, I'm being silly here. ;p But really, being "fashionable" it's not just about knowing your style, but also about being a good color coordinator! You should know what color looks good with what! The key thing to remember here is to have a good color coordination/complementary colors in your outfit. If you are not sure what color looks great with what, always refer back to the Color Wheel that we learned in school!  Color combinations can be built by using the Color Wheel to build a particular color relationship and color schemes! So this makes it more simple to know what color combo that you should pick if you really don't know how to match colors! - In case you forget, from the Color Wheel, there are five types of color group; Primary Colors, Secondary Colors, Tertiary Colors, Complementary Colors and Analogous Colors! So pick those colors that would work together, based on these category!

Choosing colors for fashion is just like painting your drawings in the art class we took in the primary school! So..unless you're a color blind, you should know what color matches with what! ;)
And fyi, the color black or white goes with anything! So if you're not sure, always pick these two guys and you'll be safe!

Outfits on a color wheel!

To be honest, it can be quite difficult to wear a Complimentary Color together if you don't really know how and what to pick. But if you know how to color-block your outfit with the right hue, then you can turn out to be terrific, smokin' hot eye-catching girl ever on earth, even if you just wear simple outfit! hehee. - But please know that too much color (more than four colors, that is) on you, would make you look like a page out of a coloring book though! ;p So pick wisely!!

For example, the color deep red and dark green. They are complete opposites, which makes them a Complementary Color, thus.. they make each other seem more intense when combined! And some colors have a strong contrast, which may have a dramatic effect on you as well! - It all depends on how you mix your color palette to get what you're aiming to look like! (Wow...I'm in an art class now, huh?! hahah ;p)

Okayyy...I think I'm done lecturing on the color scheme for this class. I shall dismiss the class already! haha ;p

Alright...enough on colors. I hope you get my point here!

*class dismiss*
;p

Inherited Acne or Cosmetic Acne?

Why do you get acne? Why do some people didn't suffer from acne at all throughout his or her life? And whyyyy, do you still have acne although you've done so many things already, to get rid of them? Why

Well... I don't know exactly why some people get acne and others don't, but I do know that certain people are born with a genetic tendency to develop acne prone skin and some just plainly blessed with perfect skin no matter what they do or put on their skin. Oh, SO unfair! :(

Just like others, I suffer from acne every now and then too! Sobs...

So why do you get acne?

Well, there are many myths about what causes acne. Some people blame their diet and foods for their outbreaks. Some think that it's their skincare that made their complexion looks so bad. Some think that dirty skin causes it. And some may even blame their parents for their acne! Figuring out why you get acne is one of the best things that you can do for a successful acne treatment! It's not really easy to know whyyy, as there are so many factors that could cause it, I know.. and once the skin is clear, you may still not know the exact reason behind all the pimples on your skin! However, understanding the common triggers of acne will help narrow the search for a clear skin solution, and you stand a better chance of fixing them!

First of all, what is acne?? Acne is a form of skin disease, which is caused by sebaceous gland blockage, and is caused by a build up of dead skin cells combined with oil and bacteria inside the pores. Which then leads to many different types of blemishes! - You might experience blackheads and whiteheads, pustules and nodules, or a combination of inflamed and non-inflamed lesions.
There are many different reasons, that could cause acne! But one thing I remember what my doctor told me last time, that acne is actually inherited as a dominant characteristic - which in other words, it's actually genetic! So if your parents both had acne, there's a 70% chance that you will have it as well!! Oh no.... T___T

So knowing your family's acne history can be helpful when trying to get clear skin. You might think that acne is caused by dirty skin or poor hygiene. And, you've probably heard that chocolate or greasy foods make you break out too. But oh well...there are so many myths about acne that may prevent people from getting the help that they need! So understanding the causes of your acne will help you make educated decisions about the best treatment solutions for your skin.

Well, both my parents had acne when they were younger. My mom actually had a perfect skin throughout her teenage years..and only had her pimples after having a bad break-up in her early twenties. - Hormonal changes I guess.. And my dad on the other hand, suffered from acne throughout his teenage years and until his mid twenties. But they both now are free from any skin disease and my mom especially, have so beautiful skin...I'm jealous! =/

And now, since I'm in my mid twenties, so I guess it's my time to suffer from acne as well?! Oh, thank you mom and dad! haha ;p

Surprisingly.. both my sisters and my brother, did not suffer from acne at all. In fact, they all have perfect skin! And I don't know whyyy...I am the only one who inherited my parent's acne! tskk... I have acne since I was 21 by the way. Hormonal changes, I guess?? Sigh. - I used to have a clear skin that even a stranger would stop me and ask about my skin...but these days, I don't know how and whyyy, every now and then I get acne on my face! tskk..

One thing for sure, having acne doesn't make anyone feel pretty or confident at all (at least for me!), and it can negatively impact your quality of life! So that's why it's so important to seek treatment right away!

"I want a blemish free skin, please!!"

Although the main causes of acne are genetic, many other factors can contribute to break outs, and certain personal habits might be making it difficult for you to get clear. But the most common causes of acne are listed below:
  • Genetics
  • Hormones
  • Bacteria
  • Skincare or Cosmetics
  • Food allergies and sensitivity
  • Poor diet and nutrition
  • Poor cell turnover rate
  • Skin picking/pimple popping
  • Underlying health problem
  • Stress
  • Lack of sleep
  • Overly active sebaceous glands
  • Toxin build up
  • Others
Do keep in mind that the causes of acne are different for each person. That's one reason why it can be helpful to get a customized treatment plan from an acne expert! Seek a dermatologist and ask as many questions as possible for better understanding about your skin. And also, when you're isolating the potential causes of your acne, you have to treat the process like a science experiment. - Keep track of everything: what did you put on your skin, what did you eat, how you're feeling before and during you have your acne, where you get your acne on your face, when did you break out, whether or not the pimples hurt, their sizes/how big they are, write down your menstrual cycles, etc, etc! Keep a diary of this,  and keep track of everything for a good 2-3 months or so...so you can get a better understanding of how your skin works, how it reacts, and what it likes or doesn't like!

There are many effective treatments available that can get your skin clear. If you have acne, don’t rub or touch your pimples. Squeezing, pinching or picking at them can lead to scars or dark blotches. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about! haha ;p
Gently wash your face with a mild cleanser twice a day, and after heavy exercise. Don’t use strong soaps or rough scrub pads, because they may make the problem worse!

Acne prone skin should be cleansed with a gentle cleanser that does not irritate skin, because this is to prevent the acne from worsening. Also, you should choose the skincare products that are oil-free and without irritants. So avoid using cosmetics, sunscreen or other skincare products which have irritants such as fragrance which may clog your skin. – It is recommended for acne-prone skin to use water-based or non-comedogenic products. – I would definitely recommend Papulex for this! This brand is from France by the way, and only sold to the dermatologist/clinics and selected pharmacies.. Their product is specially made for acne prone skin and their new range of acne care products is clinically demonstrated to be effective for all forms of acne!!

Anyways, several over-the-counter medicines can treat mild acne but it's always best to seek a doctor and ask his/her opinions for products that you should take/use on your face. It may take up to 8 weeks before you notice an improvement. So be patient! For more severe acne, talk to your doctor about the options and solutions!

And lastly, remember this....no matter what treatment you are on, always, always remember to wash your face morning and night and exfoliate weekly!

Talk more on acne soon! Take care girls! ;)

Get the Look!

Hi girls!

I get lotsa request from my readers on what I normally use for my make up. Well, my make up is rather simple, I would say. I don't really like colors like blue, pink, green, etc etc for my daily make up (cuz I'm boring like that..hehe).

So I would usually stick to the natural tones cuz I think they look more practical/natural for my everyday wear..  So today, I'm going to share with you the products I use!

Hope you like it! ^___^

Had Japanese again!

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to dine at a nice Japanese restaurant in Eastin Hotel, at a place called Eyuzu. I was craving for Japanese for weeks...so that was the perfect day for me to get my source of Japanese food! Yeay!

I went there with my buddy, Shida, who loves Japanese as much as I do! ^__^ Picked her up from her office in Jalan Ampang, and then from KL we went straight to Eastin, PJ.. We talked a lot during the one hour traffic jam session. Catching things up with my girl is just so nice.. Although... I would always be the one that would talk more! hahaa ;p

At Eastin, PJ

I love this girl...but I hate taking a picture next to her, because I would simply look 3 times fatter than I already am! LOL ;p

So anyways, the ambiance of the restaurant is nice..  The restaurant is situated at Level Two by the way..
Very clean and very japanese...that even the napkin/table cloth is wrapped into a kimono style. So cute! hehe

Eyuzu restaurant is known for incorporating only the freshest food sources available in its dishes. They offer a wide array of Japanese cuisine, from teppanyaki to sukiyaki, tempura, ramen, sushi and more − served either buffet or à la carte style! - They have Ã  la carte daily for lunch and dinner, and buffet on the weekend (dinner only). The price for the weekend dinner buffet is RM 86++ per adult and RM 46++ for kids

While waiting for my food...let's Instagram! hehe

Shida is on Instagram too!

So as usual, the sashimi would be our starters! Gosh....I love loveeee sashimi! Especially the fat ones! hehe. I could eat sashimi all day, and nothing else but sashimi! hehe. My fave one would always be the salmon! Mmmm....

This is their Sashimi & Maki Sushi
Price for sashimi start from RM95++ (depending on size/pieces), and for Maki Sushi is RM40++

There are some assorted raw fish of fresh salmon, tuna, sea bass and surf clam in here. Goshh...they are so juicy, that writing about it here just made my saliva drooling! haha. For those who haven't try any sashimi before, you reaaaalllly have to try them! Don't worry about the smell or anything like that...because if it is fresh, you won't taste any "fishy" kind of smell or whatever it is that you think it would taste like! hehe... Sashimi is just soooo juicy! I love it!!! ^___^

I wish they serve us more fat sashimi that night! hehe

This is the Maki Sushi, which is a Soft Shell Crab Sushi

Mmmm.... Gotta love the red one and the orange one!

Next on the menu, would be this!
The Cawan Mushi.

This is a steamed egg custard that is filled with some yummy mushroom, chicken slices and some veggies...I love to eat this, and to scoop to the bottom to know what else can I find inside the cup! hehe..  Anyway, this Cawan Mushi is very soft, creamy and yummy! The price for one cup is RM 13++

Next on the menu is this one...

The Shake Kabuto Jiru...which means, the Salmon Head Miso Soup!

I've always loved Miso Soup...and God knows how much I love salmon. So of course, I love the taste of this Salmon Head Miso Soup too!! There's something comforting about sipping this Miso Soup, I would say! And I love to nibble on the soft seaweed too! Yums!

Next is Shida's fave menu!

 The Tempura!

I gotta say that Tempura would be my must item to order each time I dine at a Japanese. I just love the taste of the deep fried, lightly battered prawn and the veggies, and then dipping them into that black sauce + grated white radish. Mmm! It is nice to eat Tempura when eaten hot immediately after frying.. Oh God..sedapnyaaa...hehe..

Price starts from:
RM46++ per serving for Ebi Tempure (Prawns),
RM30++ per serving for Kisu Tempura (Silver Whiting), and
RM20++ per serving for Yasai Tempura (Assorted Vegetables)

Half way eating....I'm already full! haha

..and here comes the Unagi!

The Unagi Kabayaki and Saba Shioyaki
(Grilled Eel with Sweet Soya Sauce and Grilled Mackerel with Salt Seasoning)

I've always love unagi too. They taste so wonderfully soft and sweet! So, of course I would love this as well! Tasted sooooo good! I would prefer to eat my unagi with a little bit of rice... Mmmm...

If you ever dine here, make sure you would try their unagi! It's soooo delicious!! The price starts from RM55++ for Unagi Kabayaki per serving, and  RM30++ for Saba Shioyaki per serving. I can't say much about the Saba Shioyaki (the Grilled Mackerel with Salt Seasoning) though, because I was too full to eat that, by that time..so I gave it away to Shida..hehe

Next on the menu is the Teppanyaki!

I've always love seeing how the chefs prepare the food..

From left:
White Tuna RM 55++,
Mix Mushroom in Garlic-Butter Sauce RM 40++, and
Teppanyaki Grilled Beef Roll with Enoki Mushroom RM 48++

My favourite one among these three would be the Teppanyaki Grilled Beef Roll with Enoki Mushroom! The grilled beef roll wrapped around that enoki mushroom was just so juicy! I love the sauce too! Yummy.

This is our second last meal of that night that was being cook by the chef!
By this time, my tummy feels like exploding already! haha.. Too much food, but still can't resist to taste the scrumptious food that was served specially for us!

Looking at how it is made... - The toppings is made first..and then he prepared the pancake base. The pancake has assortments of veggie added with slices of chicken and topped with seafood!

Mmmm..yummy!

Ready!

This is called the Okonomiyaki.
It is a Japanese Pan Cake with Chicken and Seafood

The price is from RM20++ per portion per serving.  This is my first time trying something like this! The Japanese pancake/pizza.. And I love it! But too bad, I was already too damn full, that I couldn't take any more than one bite of it! It's really really nice...but I think, if I take more than one bite, my tummy would really really explode that night! haha.. Plus, I was saving the little space I have in my tummy for the dessert! hehe...

Oh, how I wish I can take the pancake home with me and eat it later!

Lastly, it's dessert time!!! Another dessert that I love! The green tea ice cream! Whenever my family dine at a Japanese restaurant, I always ask for more than one scoop of this ice cream! hehe. And lucky me.. that night, one of the girls can't take anything anymore because she was too full...So she gave me hers, and I had two scoops of my green tea ice cream! Yeayy!

Daazato, the green tea ice-cream topped with red bean paste

However I gotta say that I am quite bummed at how it tasted like. I mean..don't get me wrong, it tasted just fine. Still good...but being a green tea ice cream lover, I would expect it to taste more green tea, like how I usually like my green tea ice cream would be, instead of this vanilla kind of taste.. with only subtly green tea flavor in it . - Well it's nice if you like vanilla ice cream with a hint of green tea flavor in it though.. But I would love it if they put more green tea in it! hihi.

It is still fine though, because I do love vanilla ice cream too! haha. So that explains the two scoops I had! LOL ;p

Overall, it was such a nice dining experience! Would love to dine here again!!!  Thank you Eastin for the lovely experience!!!

Creepy Baby Shower Cakes!

I love any showers and parties.. Bridal showers, baby showers, engagement showers, etc etc! They're fun, right?! A sweet and fun afternoon with the ladies eating cakes, hanging out with good friends and family with lotsa laughters, opening presents, yummy finger foods, fun games etc etc!

My first baby shower that I attended was Farhana's (she already delivered a beautiful baby boy! ^__^). I love everything about her baby shower. It was so fun, cute and sweet!! The excitement at the thought of a new baby is just so exciting, right?! hehe.

Anyways...these days, there are some sick and totally inappropriate people that made super strange cakes and made their Baby Showers seem creepy instead of sweet!! O____o

Look!!!

EEEEEEEEEEEEKKK!!!!

I mean really, who would dare eating this cake???! I know the person who had this idea just wanna take the "traditional cake" of the baby shower's cake up to a next level, and show their creativity.. And they intended to make a joke out of it. But really...this has gone too far now for a fancy little cake!!!

Let's see some more what else do these sick people had bake! Eeek.

Just the idea of putting this cake into the oven freaks me out!

Placenta cake?? Yuck.

You can view how they cut the Sleeping Baby cake here!

Now, who wants to cut into a peacefully sleeping baby??
O___o

This looks like a baby has been buried alive!

The lady in labour looks scary! haha

This one is not as creepy as the others (maybe because it's small?), I would just remove the baby before I take a big bite of it! hehe

So life-like...
O___O

LOL...
Okay...this is funny! >__<

Creepy!!!

I know they're just cakes...But really, who would dare cutting a baby's head and butt?! I know I don't!  Can't these people just stick to a normal round or rectangular shaped cakes?? O__o

P/s: Dear my loved ones...please don't surprise me with a Cicak-looking cakes. I will kill you guys! haha
