Du'a for Finding your Soul Mate :)

"O God! Please grant me The One,
Who will be the garment for my soul,
Who will satisfy half of my deen and in doing so make me whole..

Make him righteous and on your path
In all he’ll do and say.
And sprinkle water on me at Fajr
Reminding me to pray

May he earn from halal sources
And spend within his means
May he seek God’s guidance always
To fulfill all his dreams

May he always refer to Qur’an
and the Sunnah as his moral guide
May he thank and appreciate God
for the woman at his side

May he be conscious of his anger
and often fast and pray
Be charitable and sensitive
In every possible way

May he honor and protect me
And guide me in this life
And please God! Make me worthy
to be his loving wife

And finally, O God!
Make him abundant in love and laughter
In taqwa and sincerity
In striving for the hereafter! "

Ramadhan Mubarak

It's that time of the year again... Ramadhan is here! Let's do good, strengthen our faith, seek forgiveness, give more charity, and trying to be a better person all together! ^__^

For now, these would be my current reads. - I'm trying to recite them each morning after my Subuh prayer (if I'm not running late for work! hehe). Otherwise, maybe I'll just read them at work during my free time.

Anyways, how's your Ramadhan treating you so far? Hope you guys are doing great! As for me, I wasn't so well on my second day of Ramadhan.. Blood pressure was low again. sobs.. Anyhow..I'm okay now, Alhamdullilah. So anywayss...this isn't going to be a long post. Just a quick update before I go for my solat.. hehe. - I will update more stories soon yeah. You knoww..the usual stuff. hehee..

Before I go, let me share with you one of the du'a/prayers in one of my books:

So I hope you guys are having a great Ramadhan this year, ok! To all my Muslim followers, I would like to wish you a Ramadan Mubarak and the well-being of your families in this wonderful time of year. I hope the fasts will teach you patience and bring you and your family together. May Allah Bring us Joy and Happiness, inshaallah! :)

Stay tune for more updates! xx

It was time for her to go..

Sorry for the lack of updates in here..

I had a busy weekend attending events, so I didn't have time to update.. And on Tuesday, my only grandmother (my dad's side) passed away that morning. :(
So, the whole family were in Pahang that day and Wednesday. This was the first time I get to see the burial event.. Normally I won't be following people to the grave.. - I'm somewhat afraid to see the burial of the deceased or something... But now that she was my only grandparent who was left, I wanted to go and see how do people actually bury the janazah..

I must say, it was such a sad and eye-opening event..after hearing the talkin/prayers recited by the ustaz, I felt insaf and I feel like I wanna improve myself and be a good muslim! The age of the grave/barzakh world is soo scary, if you're not prepared and not a good/faithful muslim! We never know when is our time! So we all must strive to become a better and faithful muslim, inshaallah so we all could be in Jannah for eternity! (This is a reminder to myself too!)

***************

Anyway, I'm very happy to hear from the maid who took care of my grandmother...that she passed away so easily. - On that Tuesday morning, after Subuh, she took her bath (she wanted to go shopping at some market called Pekan Sari in Lanchang, like her usual routine on Tuesdays). After she cleaned herself and getting dressed, she wanted to rest on her day bed while waiting for my aunty which is her first daughter, to pick her up.... But before she lie down, she said the kalimah  "la ilaha illallah" about 3 times and then she rest on the bed and sleep..andddd.....little that we know, it was time for her to go......
She was gone right after she sleeps..

She wasn't sick. She didn't have any sickness/disease at all throughout her 92 years. (Only fever or cough or something like that every other month) She was a very strong lady.

And when I saw her face that day, when we wanted to kiss a goodbye for the very last time before burying her, I saw that her face is somewhat...glowing! Like....there's nurWow...this is my first time seeing that kind of face of the deceased.. I hope she will be placed among the righteous and enter paradise by The Grace and Mercy of Allah. Amin

We will miss your lemang and your Pahang accent and also your melatah, Wan. May you rest in peace. Al fatihah.

XOXO,
Your Granddaughter.

Who's going to the Being Me Conference tomorrow?! :)

I'm going! -With my sister, and her sister-in-law, who is also one of the Being Me committee member. Hope to see you girls there!

I'm so excited to go to this talk! There will be lotsa programs over there. You can view here to find out more about the programs.

Anyways, there is no dress code whatsoever..you can even wear your casual attire, but of course, it has to be sopan la kannn to respect the majlis... So instead of jeans or my usual tops...I thought of wearing thissss....

A black Baju Kurung by Rizman Ruzaini. Or, an abaya/jubah

But then, my sister told me all committee member would be wearing black abaya/jubah too. Nanti orang ingat I'm a committee member pulak! hehe.. And she said she would be wearing her usual attire. And that means, you knowww... Topshop, Zara, Mango and whatnot! haha..

Oh, I don't know what to wear! Because later that evening I have a meeting at Mandarin Oriental pulak. Hmm... what should I wear? Or what do you girls wear?? :)

What Woman Wants in a Marriage..

Recently I read an article about what woman wants in a relationship/marriage, that was forwarded to me via email from my friend.. which I find it very true and thus, today..I would like to share this on my blog.. :)

I'm not sure who wrote it though. Kindly let me know if you know it.. But from the article, it says that the author is a man/ustaz.  If it is true, mashaallah..he must be such an understanding, lovely husband!
I agree with every word he says here. As a woman, I too..want all these from my dearly future husband. Inshaallah! :)

What Woman Wants in a Marriage?

1. Woman get married to find a special friend

2. They want someone who will..
  • Share their secrets
  • Laugh and joke with them
  • Love them unconditionally
  • Cherish and adore them while being romantic
  • Making them feel beautiful
3. She wants a man strong in his deen

4. Someone who can stand up and take the responsibility of the household, and help raise their children in accordance with Islam

5. They want someone who will be attracted to them emotionally through their personality, and attracted to them through their bodies.

6. A woman wants a partner who will strive together with her through this life.

7. Laughing and rejoicing through the good times.

8. Sticking by each other and supporting each other through the bad times

9. A woman wants her husband to be her friend, companion and her soul mate!

10. Any good husband MUST realize that a woman's primary need is: EMOTIONAL

11. He must take into account the prophetic tradition

12. And strive to be the BEST to his wife.

13. He must take care of their wives and this entails treating them with love and respect, and striving to make them happy as men have been assigned this responsibility by Allah.

14. If a husband can fulfill his wife's primary needs, not only Allah would reward him, but his wife will definitely be content with him, and together the couple's life will be more HARMONIOUS!

15. When a woman's needs are fulfilled, she will be MORE willing to fulfill her husband's needs.

16. The BEST way to satisfy a woman's emotional needs is to LISTEN to her and respond to her with COMPASSION.

17. By listening to her intently, with your undivided attention, and taking a genuine interest in what she has to say, she will feel loved, cherished and important!

18. And men must realize that when she approaches you with her problems, she doesn't necessarily want solutions, she just wants a sympathy and UNDERSTANDING.

19. To have a successful relationship, both must understand each other's needs. A husband must take into account that a woman's needs and expectations are different than a man's, and vice versa.

20. If a woman and man finds a complete, fulfilling relationship, it is then that... A GREAT INTIMACY FOR BOTH HAS BEEN ACHIEVED!

If you found someone that can fulfill all these, hold on to it. And never let go and take things for granted. And always appreciate the person and strive to please one another.. May Allah grand us all the knowledge to please our spouse everyday, and to live in a harmonious life together, forever. Inshaallah :)

Ramadhan Kareem

Hey everyone!

How's your puasa so far? Had a good buka puasa meals? Mine? Oh well...so sad that I am not able to fast on the first day of Ramadhan. tskk. I hope I will be able to start fasting soon... I wouldn't want to miss any of the pahala-pahala besar in this holy month ='(

picture googled

But anyway, my mom cooked some very very nice meals today. We had some lauk-lauk kampung and her yummy traditional Malay delicacies as our desserts. I didn't snapped any of the food photo as I arrived home a bit late today. Jammed everywhere. At that hours, biasalah, kan. hehe. So, they had eaten almost half of the food when I arrived...

Nevertheless, I did have a good time today, after arriving home from work, seeing both my sisters and their family came to our house to break fast together. Our place was full of cheerfulness with the kids running around the house, and the parents and everyone else talking and eating, and the bibiks laughing and whatnot..hehe. This is one of the things that I love about this holy month. The Ramadhan spirit! First, is the spirit of sharing and gathering. Whether at my house, or my kampung, or your house or the mosques and even at the restaurants. The spirit is shared whether in big or even smaller communities! Everyone gathered to break fast and share the food with one another.. You can feel the excitement in the air everywhere around you! This month also encourages people to be more generous and kind to each other.. That's why I love Ramadhan so much.. There's just something wonderful and happy about it! For me, this is the month that has a very powerful way of connecting in with the spirit of charity, sharing, doing good deeds and remembrance of God.  =)
“The act of fasting is said to redirect the heart away from worldly activities, its purpose being to cleanse the inner soul and free it from harm.”

Another thing that I like about Ramadhan is, the spirit of performing the Taraweeh. For non-Muslim, these are the special prayers featuring recitations of the Qur'an after our 'Isha prayer (the last evening prayer). This is not compulsory like fasting. It is optional but recommended. Because the rewards are HUGE. So many muslims pray these prayers in the night during Ramadhan..whether at home or at mosques..

These were the two little happy kids running around the house, and kacau everyone..hehe

Oh, I hope I will be able to fast soon! Happy fasting everyone! Have a blessed Ramadhan! =)
